Time-Lapse of No. 9 Ghost Inktober Drawing

A familiar voice calls out your name, you go to your son/daughter/boyfriend/girlfriend in the other room and ask what they wanted.  They look at you crazy and say, they haven't said a word.  Sometimes they say they've only thought it.  Dun DUN DUN!

Is it the work of ghosts?  Transmitting thoughts and sounds over the astral plane?  This has happened to me more times than I can count, and I often just attribute it to a sound that my brain interpreted as my name.  Surely science can back that up right?  Right?!

I mean people have deja-vu constantly and science has proven that it is misfired synapses in the brain that cause the person to think they have visited or experienced something before when they really haven't.  What a cruel joke your brain playing!  I personally not sure I believe that explanation anyway.  Its not much better believing I actually have experienced a situation before, because that raises a million spooky questions, but at least I know I'm not crazy and my brain is not against me, am I right?

Anyway the reason you're here, to see my new Inktober time-lapse, No.9 and labeled correctly!  This beautiful apparition is inspired by Crimson Peak the horror movie by Guillermo del Toro.  I love that guy!  He's got some amazing visuals in all his movies, and he is truthfully the reason I've come to love the blend of horror and fantasy.  Give this a quick watch for me, and tell me what you think!

This haunting heroine was made with

  • Dr. Ph. Martins Black Star ink
  • Master's Touch Synthetic Squirrel Round in size 4
  • Pigma Micron pens in 02, 05
  • Tombow Water-soluble markers in light grey and medium grey
  • Aquabee Super Deluxe Paper

I know there's a lot of unexplained issues we face, and perhaps science will find what makes things go bump in the night, especially the bumps that sound like footsteps running through your apartment.  I blame it on the neighbors, but it sounds way too clear and outside my bedroom door.  OH well! I'm sure its the neighbors.  Right?  Maybe they have kids I've never seen. Or a dog that wears boots.  Of course! That's it.

Tell me one of your ghost stories in the comments!  We can inspire and encourage each other.

About the Artist

I would call myself a Jack of all Trades, but mostly because I'm interested in many areas of art if not all!  I graduated with a BFA in Fine Art from the University of North Texas with a focus on Watercolor.   I always had dreams of creative writing, and in 5th grade I wasn't too bad!  Art clearly won out for my attention, but writing will always have a place in my heart!

What better way to write, I say,  than to share a blog, and practice my second love while talking about my first! With that said, I hope you all enjoy my ramblings and please hit me up with any questions.  :D  Contact me!
