About the artist

Johnny Perez was born in Vernon, TX. His creativity began early in life and was nurtured by a supportive family that encouraged him to follow his dreams. He furthered his study of art in Denton, TX at the University of North Texas.  There he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in Watercolor.


He has had multiple exhibitions in Denton, TX including Cora Stafford Gallery, and the Lightwell Gallery at UNT.  He has also exhibited at the Bath House Cultural Center, Kettle Art Gallery, among others in Dallas, TX, and internationally at 1F Gallery in Niigata, Japan.


His work is heavily inspired by his love of animation, anime, pop surrealism, fantasy, and comic books. He currently lives and works in Dallas, TX.
